I have three beautiful adult children, of which two are gay. They are the joy of my life and I wanted to set things straight, and let them know that I love them for who they are. They are God's children, who were created for us, to love and show love to this world. The bible accounts for many situations for us to learn and to be lead down a righteous path. It helps us to live moral loving lives.
When examining events in the Bible that took place thousands of years ago, it's important to consider the customs and scientific understanding of that time. Much of what is known today was unknown back then. For instance, women were deemed unclean and were not to be touched or engaged with during their menstrual cycles. Wicked individuals committed terrible acts like rape to exert control over people and society. Societies often neglected the homeless and sick due to greed. These issues occurred then and persist today. Yet, some continue to prioritize arguments such as women should not have rights because they are not valued like men, or that homosexual relationships are considered sinful.
I believe that God's Word was intended to address the harm caused by idolatry and the abuse of power. The Pharisees, who acted unjustly, demonstrated this, and Jesus stated that He did not come to abolish the Law but sacrificed His life so we could have eternal life. We should refrain from judging, especially if we are not causing harm to one another. I believe the Law was established to help us draw closer to God. God loves us all, and we should not obstruct that love. We can express our truth and then let it be. Allow God to resolve things if they need resolving. We don't know everything, but God does, and I trust Him in all matters.
In closing, I'm a Modern day Minister, living according to His will. All I know is to share love, be love and allow my light to shine so He may be seen and received. No one should suffer persecution, especially if it is unjust. As John 8:7 says, "Whoever is without sin, let them cast a stone". No one can. 1Corinthian 13:13 says, "So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." Show love to your neighbor so we can enjoy everlasting peace.
